We all have heard so many stories regarding placement of the digital channels,most transmitted in UHF though a few in VHF. The battle to possible sell off VHF ? how many UHF only Ant were installed in certain markets ? After receiving dozens of calls from the Los Angles and Orange County areas this past month regarding loss of local channel 7-9-11-and 13.You nailed it ! Most Local channel moved from the UHF to VHF without any notice what so ever ? what a surprise ! Funny how we go full circle back to VHF/UHF Antennas, the sad part is how many manufacturers have tons of UHF only antennas on the shelf, I guess they will bring out the old faithfull combiners again and sell a Small VHF to supplement the existing stock and in the field.

ABUS-More than just Background Music

Sure I have installed many Whole House Audio system, there was a time were I would never have though about installing an ABus system. Yes I am now a believer, I did take that leap of faith around 2005, and yes I have been proven wrong. I installed my first system at my own home; The Litmus test was ticking off my wife by turning up the audio on my patio. I was impressed! I love to beat up product for test purposes of course; this little keypad/mini amp at around 7amps or so was pushing two 200watt Dual Coil rock speakers with ease. You should only have one pair per keypad, 2 Duals equals 2 pair of standard speakers.

Do I use the IR-5000 or IR-2400 to control my A/V products

The IR-5000 is used if the A/V products are in the same room or Close proximity to the TV location. The IR Receiver attached to the IR-5000 is one meter in length.The receiver head is typically placed on the TV though you can get creative. There are four emitter heads IR-3002 for 4 devices to be placed on the IR sensor of each device. This is a very simple installation. The IR-2400 is a freestanding IR receiver that is the same IR receiver on the IR-5000 though as a separate part is used with the IR-1203 or P-1205 both are expandable The IR-1203 is less expensive and single Zone, the P-1205 is a bit more in cost and has a 2nd zone typically used for whole house Applications. The IR-2400 is used for longer distanced between the A/V products and the TV location. This application requires 3 wires, (+, Ground, Signal) you can use most any wire such as cat5 or even speaker wire if existing. With the IR-1203/P-1205-IR-2400 you can have multiple IR-2400 receivers if required.
