75ohm Terminators are used with CATV /Ant systems to terminate unused Splitter/Amp ports or active unused RF Wall plate ports in a room . Why Terminate ? CATV RF Leakage control, Leakage is measure in Microvolt's,FCC states that the allowable Leakage must be 10mv at 20',Cable companies have very strict testing to control the "leakage" in a system .The accumulative leakage or "CLI" is an overall measurement tested once a year,This test is accomplished with aircraft measuring a specific Frequency.Terminating open port also helps the integrity of the "RF" system.Measuring a 8 way splitter with open ports will be around a .5 dB less than with all ports terminated.
Never use for Satellite systems.
